Oil seals are commonly referred to as grease, fluid, dirt, or lip seals. Oil seals are an integral part of any rotating and moving part assembly.
They close the space between fixed and moving parts in machinery. In most applications, seals are either partially or temporarily immersed or only exposed to splashed lubricant, especially in engines, transmissions, gearboxes or axles. They are an essential part of nearly every machine and vehicle in operation. Oil seals generally consist of three basic components: the sealing element (the nitrile part), the metal housing, and the spring. It is a widely used sealing element. The role of the seal is to prevent the medium from leaking along the moving parts.
